Home Learning

EYFS and Key Stage One

In Key Stage 1, children are expected to complete 10 minutes on Numbots over the week. This can be done in smaller chunks, or all at once.

In Key Stage 1 and EYFS, we will be sending home a reading book every week for the children to practise their phonics skills that is matched to their individual reading level. We expect the children to read this to you at least 5 times a week. By reading the same book for a week, the children will grow in confidence and enjoy reading! They should be able to read the book fluently (not sounding out) by the end of the week.
You will also receive a story book that you should share together at home.

Key Stage Two

In Key Stage 2, children are expected to complete 20 minutes on TTRS over the week. This can be done in smaller chunks, or all at once. We will also be running lunchtime clubs in which a member of staff and prefects will be there to support children to complete their homework.

Spelling Shed is a programme which we use to support children with their spelling. The children are expected to complete a minimum of 5 games a week. These games are short and sharp and will support the learning that happens in school.

Lastly, we expect children to read for 20 minutes, 5 times a week. Children will choose a book and then be expected to look after this book. They will bring it to school and take it home at the end of each day. We use Accelerated Reader to support comprehension. Children should complete a quiz on each book that they read. This can be done at home or during homework club.
