Safeguarding

Safeguarding Opening Statement

At South Molton United Primary School we recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support and protection. We work closely with our partner agencies to safeguard pupils.

On this page you will find links to our safeguarding policies and useful links for online safety.

The school has four fully trained Level 3 Safeguarding Officers.

Mr K O'Donnell, Head Teacher - Senior Designated Officer.

Ms T Gould, SENCO - Deputy Designated Officer.

Mrs Markou and Miss Gale - Designated Officers

Keith Crockford - Designated Safeguarding Governor

All our staff have General Level 2 safeguarding training, which is updated every three years and all our staff have to have an enhanced DBS check prior to working with the children.

If you have any concerns regarding safeguarding/child protection please come in and talk to a member of the above designated team.
