Reading for glory: Our school reading competition
As a way of encouraging our pupils to read at home, the school runs a half termly competition. Each week during Friday's Celebration Collective Worship, each class shares its total. The total is worked out by the number of children in each class, who have read on at least 5 days in the week. The winning class can decide their reward. In the past, classes have chosen 'Fun Splashes' at the local pool, picnics, iPad sessions and many other fun activities. There is also a '7 reads raffle' for children, who read every day of the week. The winning names are drawn at the end of each half term.
